Paz won his first world title in 1987. He won his second world title in 1991 when he dominated junior middleweight champion Gilbert Dele. Weeks after the Dele fight, Vinny Paz broke his neck in a serious automobile accident. Paz was told that he would never fight again, and he spent three months in a hospital bed. When doctors told Paz he would never fight again they obviously did not know the heart of a true champion. Against doctors orders, and without their knowledge, "The Pazman" returned to the gym with a halo on. He began lifting weights, getting back the strength he lost while sitting in bed. He finally made his triumphant return to the ring just over a year later. His first opponent was former welterweight champ Luis Santana. Paz won a ten round decision. This item is a one of a kind signed boxing robe.
