Amazon.com Product Description Everlast Everhide Punch Mitts are worn by trainers or partners who act as moving targets during workouts to help perfect punching technique. Made of rugged Everhide, they are padded with extra-thick, shock-absorbing foam to help cushion blows and protect the hand and wrist. Punch mitts are great for improving speed and agility, as well as developing better hooks, jabs and uppercuts. A target on the center of the mitts promotes straight, accurate punches and combinations, and the elastic strap and finger slots on the back hold the mitts securely in place. About Everlast The name Everlast is synonymous with boxing. Renown internationally as a manufacturer of boxing equipment, Everlast started out as a swimwear manufacturer in 1910. Headquartered in the Bronx, NY, the company was founded by 17-year-old Jacob Golomb. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, Jacob Golomb was dissatisfied with the durability of swimsuits because they barely lasted a season, so he began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He proudly gave them the name, Everlast. Although the swimsuits did not last through the years, the name did. Over the next years, Golomb expanded his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey asked Golomb to construct protective headgear that would last more than 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. Golomb specially designed the training gear for Dempsey. In 1919, Dempsey won the world's heavyweight championship wearing boxing gloves made for him by Golomb. Everlast became the headquarters for boxing equipment throughout the world. In 1925, Golomb designed elastic-waist trunks to replace the leather-belted trunks then worn by boxers. These trunks, now known as boxer trunks, immediately became famous. Jacob Golomb ran the business until he passed away in the early 1950's and his son, Dan, took over. In 1958, Ben Nadorf joined Everlast and purchased 50% of the company from the Golomb family. When Dan Golomb passed away in 1995, Nadorf purchased the family's remaining 50% interest. Nadorf remained the President and Principle Share Holder of Everlast until October 24, 2000. Everlast men's and women's apparel and accessories continue today to be tremendously successful both inside and outside the ring. In addition, Everlast boxing trunks and equipment remain the proud and undefeated champion of the boxing industry for more than 90 years. The history continues, as the name states. Everlast has a traditional past and a knockout future. What's in the Box? One pair of punch mitts Manufacturer Warranty 1 year

Only for children! May 4, 2008 The Road Warrior These punching mitts are not designed for adult use. They are terribly impossible to hold onto when someone is punching. They have no curve to them, which allows you to catch the punch better. They also have a horrible design for holding them. Three very wierd openings in the back...do humans have 3 fingers? I do not recommend these mitts for anyone. For a few dollars more you can get a variety of punching mitts that are much better. Look for a little curve in the mitt, stay away from these unless you are buying the youth pack for your child. Even then, I wouldn't buy them...
Aweful Product July 17, 2007 Zachary Desroches 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A friend of mine had these mitts bought for him for Christmas and He and I decided to use them in a training session only using handwraps for knuckle padding. After five minutes my middle knuckle had torn holes in the "Everhide" and actually ripped the foam padding a bit. there are only three awkward leather loops for your fingers, so obviously the designer of this product can't count. Also, the elastic strap the goes around your wrist doesn't keep the mitt from sliding around or from flying off completely.
Good workout! June 27, 2007 Bryan K. Bailey (Knoxville, TN United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hard as it is to get my son active, I put some speedbag gloves on him and I slapped on these mitts and let him go to town. About 45 minutes of taking turns wailing at each other wearing the mitts and we were both drenched in sweat. What a workout! Strength, cardio, and endurance. These are very well made mitts with good grippability to keep them in place. Good solid padding. Pretty good size too. Overall a good deal.
It's OK June 7, 2007 Reviarg (Lincoln, NE) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The gloves work well when drilling straight punches, but are not good when drilling hooks and uppercuts. It's very difficult to fit your fingers into the finger holes. Whoever designed these gloves assumed that the person using them has 6-inch long fingers. If you can afford something more expensive find another pair with better grips for your fingers.
NOT a five star product!!! Mis-rated. June 1, 2007 Amy 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These slip off the hands with any type of forceful punch. My instructor said these were designed to work with children...not adults. I will have to toss these as they keep flying off my hands during boxing class. Do not recommend.
